The Pediatric Dentist is a
dental specialist who is dedicated to the oral health of
children from infancy through the teenage years. The
very young, preteens, and teenagers each require
different approaches in dealing with their behavior,
guiding their dental growth and development, and helping
them avoid future dental problems. The Pediatric Dentist
is best qualified to meet these needs.
A Pediatric Dentist has two additional years of
postdoctoral training in order to provide the most
up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of
children’s dental problems. We are deeply committed to
the total health and well being of your child and to the
ideals of preventive dentistry.
Our
orthodontist, Dr. Jon Golub, is conveniently located
next door. He provides complimentary orthodontic
consultations, clear braces, “Invisalign” for adults,
and early intervention treatment. Visit our
Orthodontics page for more
information. Specialty permit # 3476
One
of the most important responsibilities we have as
Pediatric Dental professionals is to educate children
and their parents about the importance of good dental
health habits. Visiting children at preschools and at
the elementary level benefits young patients
tremendously. In a very unthreatening environment, the
students learn about brushing and flossing, about
healthy eating for their teeth and about what a first
visit to the dentist can be like. Our office has
developed an outreach education program that is not only
informational and educational, but fun and entertaining.
Ms. Peggy and Ms. Robin's school hygiene program is a
hit with their fuzzy friends, "Jitterbug" and "Sydney".
Their mission: to educate youngsters on the importance
of good dental health and to eliminate any fears the
children might have about the dentist. If you would
like to schedule a complimentary dental health
presentation at your child's school, please call the
office and ask for Robin 201.944.7636
Dr. Jamie spent one week on
the island of Jamaica doing volunteer dental work
this year.
Through an
organization known as Health Care International, she
provided free dental care to rural communities in
the southern and central areas of Jamaica. Founded
by Dr. Noel Brown, a dental alum of NYU, the
organization brings dental students from Columbia,
NYU, Harlem and Michigan’s dental schools each year
to these under-served areas. The team also
consisted of MD’s and nurses who provided blood
pressure and glucose screenings, as well as
providing free medications and antibiotics. Dr.
Diament-Golub, a part time faculty at Columbia
University College of Dental Medicine, her 12
dental students and the rest of the team treated an
estimated 1600 patients throughout the week. The
team provided dental extractions, cleanings,
fillings and offered preventative care, oral health
education, free toothbrushes and toothpaste to the
communities.

Annually, our office
together with the office of Fort Lee Orthodontics, hosts
a "Patient Appreciation Party". It is our way of saying
"thank-you" for continuing to entrust us with your
child's precious, beautiful, happy smiles.
Over the past 15 years, we have had
several different venues including Sportsworld, The
Roller Rink, The Ice House, Movie Night and Krazy City.
This year marked our 15th annual PATIENT APPRECIATION
PARTY at SPACE ODESSEY in Englewood, NJ.
645 spirited children with their
untiring parents in tow, bowled, played video games and
laser tag, climbed the space ship, rode the train ride,
had their faces painted, and danced with our ultimate
DANCE PARTIERS ( thank you "TOTAL ENTERTAINMENT"), all
while the tooth fairy flittered about. An AWESOME time
was had by all.
This annual event is our way of
giving back.. with your commitment to healthy and happy
smiles, and our strong belief that good dental
habits are learned at a young age, your children will
have a positive, eager and enthusiastic attitude.
So keep up the brushing, flossing
and your regular dental checkups, and let’s all start
counting down to next years extravaganza!
I know we are!
